Planning has already started for the ICC Champions Trophy games at Edgbaston and the Oval. Pakistan begin against West Indies at the Oval in London on the 7th of June. We then play two group games at Edgbaston in Birmingham, against South Africa on the 10th of June and against India on the 15th of June.
We have had a few enquiries about hotels in Birmingham as there will be a greater number of Pakistan fans attending the game and travelling from afar for the much anticipated clash against arch rivals India at Edgbaston. With the game against South Africa at the same ground five days earlier, fans will be looking for somewhere to stay. To help out our fans, below we have suggested a few hotels in the city for fans wanting to stay in Birmingham. We would like to make clear that none of these hotels are affiliated with Stani Army and that fans are free to choose and should consider their needs carefully and book accordingly.
Hotels in Birmingham
Ibis Budget on Great Colmore Street is a good, budget hotel and is the closest of our suggestions to the Edgbaston ground (approximately 1.5 miles). Travelodge Broadway Plaza on Ladywood Middleway (road) is another good, budget hotel and within easy reach of the ground (approximately 2 miles). Lastly, Premier Inn on Hagley Road is slightly more expensive but has good reviews yet is furthest of the three from the ground (approximately 2.5 miles). We are continuously in touch with our fans, therefore, we will inform everyone on staniarmy.com where other fans have booked to stay so you can do likewise and stay at the same hotel as other Pakistan supporters should you want to.
If fans have stayed at hotels in and around Birmingham and have had a good experience in the past, please do suggest the hotel below in the comments section for your fellow fans.
Coach from Birmingham to the Oval in London
We also plan to hire a coach from Birmingham to travel to London for the West Indies game. It will leave Birmingham very early on Friday the 7th of June in time for the match and return the same day. Tickets will be £15 per person and on a strictly first come first serve basis. Fans who have travelled to the Oval before will know about the parking restrictions near the ground. We hope to alleviate this concern and remove the hassle of organising the journey down to London through organising this coach trip for our fans. So if you are interested then please comment so we have an idea of the number of fans wishing to travel together with us. Updates will be posted here on staniarmy.com.
