With the great Mohammad Yousuf

Stani Army were proud to be in attendance at the Lashings World XI game against Brentwood Cricket Club yesterday. The Lashings star-studded line up included Pakistan’s very own Mohammad Akram, Imran Nazir, and two legends in Mohammad Yousuf and Saqlain Mushtaq.

Highlight of the day was a typically majestic 86 not out from Mohammad Yousuf, who put on a master class in graceful batting, being at consummate ease throughout his innings. No doubt Pakistan fans the world over will be hoping to see the great man take the field for his nation again some time in the near future.

Though the Brentwood side held their own, Lashings came out on top after Brentwood failed to get the required 4 runs off the final ball of the innings in a close fought encounter at the Old County Ground. The Brentwood team can come away with their heads held high after doing themselves proud against a team that also included the West Indian greats of Courtney Walsh and Gordan Greenidge; England’s Philip DeFreitas, Ed Giddins and Devon Malcolm; New Zealand’s Ian Butler and Lou Vincent, and Australia’s Ian Harvey.
